Trying

Ok now you are probably thinking, Oh there Duane goes again saying that he's going to catch up on all his blogs, well I just want to say I am sorry for not keeping up on my blogs, however I am starting to feel better now and really want to try and work on each and everyone of my blog at least once a week.

Currently my favorite blogs are Military of the World, Navy's of the world blog, 44 college student and side stepping through life. So I am not giving anyone a promise because my health can drop dramatically with out warning.

Mexico History Class

Hello again, you know I have been very slow in blog writing, I believe in my lifetime since blogging became popular I probably have started and eventually dropped at least 20 or so blogs. I am not sure why because I love to write, but I would start one, do a few entry's then loose interest. However this blog and some of the other blogs I am currently working on have to do with my passions and if you read my first entry in this blog you know history in general is my passion and because of that I am 100% sure these blogs will carry on.

I think part of the reason it is coming easier to me is because know that I am attending college full time my mindset is completely different than what it was 5 months ago, let alone 5 years ago. Now take this blog on Mexico, I've really found interest in this subject because I am taking a Chicano studies class which is a requirement to even graduate, it is Chic 150 and I was in luck because it is a history class.

Now probably reaching inside myself and bringing out my high school student experience, which by the way I graduated from 26 years ago I assumed this class would be a professor sitting or standing at the front of the classroom and talk about Mexico's founding fathers, political parties, wars and battles. Well I was in for very pleasant surprise when I found this is not how this class was going to be taught, (actually none of my college classes are even remotely like my High School Classes). Our professor had totally different ideas.

This class takes the approach of covering the history, like I described above however it is put in perspective with what is going on now in Mexico and what can most likely be expected in Mexico's future. Another thing I love about this class is Professor Enrique Davalos, who by the way earned all his degree's in Mexico City, covers current affairs in the news, especially the on going "drug wars". When he covers current affairs again he brings in the aspect of Mexico's history and how it fits in with the news stories of the day.

Now if are planning on becoming a faithful follower or attempt to (if you don't become board) to start following my blog, I just want you to know I am going to attempt the same method that Possessor Davalos uses in class, and by the way I am totally open to questions, ideas and even criticism when it comes to my blogs.

Also if you desire to check out my other blogs, they haven't all been written with the inspiration that I have for this one, but that is going to change. All my blogs will encompass history, future and current affairs. I will even try to do this in my science blogs.

Well happy reading everyone, and feel free to give this and my other blogs a chance and gearing up may be slow at first, but I promise you won't be disappointed if you hold on!!

Me and This Blog!!

Hello and welcome to my new blog on Mexico. My name is Duane Donecker and I am a 44 year old college student, and a full time college student at that. A bit about my history, I retired from the United States Navy on 31 Dec 2005 and am currently attending college at San Diego City College on the 9/11 GI Bill.

Now just so you know I am not a professional blogger, although I do like to write and let my opinion on things be known. I have 4 passions in my life and those passions are first of all, my Savior the Lord Jesus Christ, second my wife and son Sandi Donecker and Jesiah Donecker. My son Jesiah is only 4 and our first and only child so needless to say he has taught me allot.

My third passion and fourth kind of fit in together, the third being History. Me and history are like two peas in a pod. I love to study the history of every thing, not just the United States or the World or a particular country, rather I study the history of everything. I love your typical history classes such as US History, World History and Western Civilization but I have also attended classes covering the history of music, history of world religions, and history of art and would love to attend classes on the history of dance, history of medicine. It doesn't matter, if you can study somethings someones history I will study it.

This particular blog is being created to go hand and hand with the history of Mexico class I am currently enrolled, and I find quite fascinating. The thing I would love the casual reader to remember when considering history is that history repeats itself if your not careful and in 99% of all history what is written is usually manipulated by the people recording the history that is why I am careful about not just studying one source, studying history is a science where you analyze the information you have and applying it to the future and hopefully the good parts of history repeats itself and you can keep bad aspects from history from coming back. For example studying Hitler can probably help you spot personality types like that in the future, keeping someone like him from ever coming to power.

Now in creating this blog I mention the History, Present and Future because they are all interrelated especially when it comes to Mexico. The dynamics in Mexican society are so powerful they can make your head swim and all three aspects of this blog are constantly at play in Mexico, possibly unlike anywhere else in the world. Mexico is a dangerous place today where honestly no one is in charge of the government. I hope you will find this blog eye opening. Right now in this country many people see terrorism as the major threat to America, but in my opp ion the biggest threat to the security of the United States is the insecurity in The United States Of Mexico.
